In this exclusive Watch Live Jazz concert, Club Cinetone presented a unique line-up of internationally acclaimed musicians in celebration of Parker’s extraordinary musical legacy. American saxophonist Mark Gross led the ensemble on alto saxophone, joined by fellow American Owen Hart Jr. on drums. They were accompanied by Jasper Soffers of the Metropole Orchestra on piano and acclaimed Dutch bassist Joris Teepe on double bass. Mark Gross is renowned for his rich, pure tone and deeply expressive playing. His distinctive sound reflects a lifelong appreciation of gospel music, which filled his family home in Baltimore during his childhood and continues to shape his musical voice today. Acclaimed jazz drummer Owen Hart Jr. has enjoyed an outstanding international career, performing and recording with many of the world’s leading jazz artists. In addition to his extensive touring and studio work, he served as Professor of Jazz Drums at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen and has presented workshops and masterclasses for musicians around the globe. This outstanding tribute captures the spirit, innovation and energy of Charlie Parker’s music, making it a must-watch performance for every jazz enthusiast.

Club Cinetone was the original home of Watch Live Jazz, founded during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide jazz musicians with a professional stage while building a world-class streaming catalogue. The venue featured a state-of-the-art production setup with six HD cameras, a dedicated control room and professional audio engineering, enabling every concert to be streamed live and recorded in broadcast quality. After restrictions were lifted, an intimate audience of around 60 guests joined these unique performances, creating an unforgettable live atmosphere. Although Club Cinetone is no longer operating as a venue, its musical legacy lives on through the extensive Watch Live Jazz streaming catalogue, where these exceptional concerts remain available on demand.
